    Chicago Botanic Garden

From the airport, you can either Uber or rent a car. However, Ubers may be pricey and are not very reliable this far out in the suburbs. I would only recommend it if you do not need to get around much after getting to the garden.

From downtown Chicago, Metra's Union Pacific North Line is the best option. The Garden is located near the Braeside Metra train station. Once you arrive at the Braeside station, you may walk to the Garden. This is a beautiful and ADA-accessible walk of only 0.8 mile. Follow the North Branch Trail, which also links bike riders to trails south of the Garden. Alternatively, you could call an Uber from the station.

From the hotel blocks, we will have a shuttle available to and from the Garden. Otherwise, the Garden is a short drive / Uber from the hotel blocks.

If driving to the garden on the day of the wedding, you may go through the member or guest line at the entrance. You can tell them at the gate that you are there for our wedding, and they will let you through. You may park in any lot, but P1 and P2 are the closest.

    Downtown Chicago

From the airport, you can either Uber or take the CTA 'L' train. The blue train line will take you downtown from O'Hare Airport in ~45 minutes, and the orange train line will take you downtown from Midway Airport in ~30 minutes.

From the suburbs, Metra trains are a good way to get downtown. There are many different Metra lines, so the best one depends on which suburb you are coming from. Here is a map of all the lines.

    Public Transit

Use Metra trains to get between the suburbs and downtown Chicago. You can buy tickets at the stations if they are open or use the Ventra app to purchase tickets. If riding on the weekends, consider purchasing a Saturday or Sunday pass or a weekend pass. The different types of tickets available can be seen here.

To get around downtown Chicago, use the CTA, which includes buses and the 'L' train lines. This article has a good overview of how to pay for CTA transit.
